The Pitt Biomedical Graduate Student Association (BGSA) Symposium was held on November 1st at the new Assembly Building. Zac's abstract was one of the 6 that were invited for an oral presentation out of approximately 120 abstracts! He gave a nice talk ("HIV-1 nuclear entry requires spatiotemporal binding of cyclophilin A and CPSF6 to capsid"), which is part of of his PhD thesis work that we hope to submit soon.

The 2023 Department of IDM Research Day was held on November 10th at the School of Public Health. All IDM students are required to attend and present a poster. Alex presented her poster entitled "Investigation of HIV-1 CA and RT mutation combinations on antiretroviral drugs." She won 2nd place for MPH students with a concentration in infectious disease pathogenesis, eradication, and laboratory practice! Her award was presented by IDM Chair, Dr. Suresh Kuchipudi.

Congratulations, Zac and Alex! Great work!
