Zhou successfully defended his PhD thesis in the Program in Microbiology and Immunology (PMI) at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine today!
His thesis was titled "Cytoplasmic CPSF6 and CypA modulate HIV-1 trafficking," which has led to 1 first author publication in the Journal of Virology (in which his image was selected for the cover), 1 co-author publication in Scientific Reports, and hopefully another first author publication soon.
I think that's the first time we've ever seen Zhou in a tie!
Unfortunately we were unable to have his defense or his party in person, but we were able to connect via Zoom together. Cupcake Zoom party!
It was fun to have you in the lab and we'll miss you, Zhou!
